Space / Air Superiority Fighter

Well, I my intel has advised me that Flick has some Corsair Battlesuits inbound:

So, I needed a new "secret weapon"... I needed Air/Space Superiority!

With a low-radar profile, both low atmo and orbital capabilities, the Zeonic X-47 Fighter provides complete battlefield support.  With variable weapon load-out and concealed weapon bays the X-47 is top-of-the-line mercenary fighter.

It's an Old Crow 6mm dropship, which is now a 15mm fighter :)

Some comparison shots:

Lava field build.

Hello all its Flick,
Mr. Harold’s table top brother in arms and silent contributor to Clear Horizons.  I’d like to thank you all for your comments on our work. Harold has ask me to post some picks of my lava field build’s sooooo here I go. I hope you enjoy them and I hope they inspire you.
Thank you.

For this build I used dense pink foam used in home insulation that can be bought at most big hardware stores like Lows or Home depot. The base is just hard board like Masonite, some white glue to hold the whole this together, sand paper and versus other tools like knives and tweezers to cut and sculpt the foam into rock forms.

Next cut the Base board to the shape you want and sand the edges so you get a smother transition from your playing surface to your piece.

Now the fun part! Cut the foam into the size and shape you want your rocks to be “don’t worry if it’s not perfect remember real rocks aren't perfect”  when you’re done white glue them to your base.

Once your Glue is dry you can start applying the ground basing medium. I like to use Golden gel mediums Coarse Pumice Gel. I apply this with a wet brush so it’s easy to move around the board surface While applying the gel you can make craters and cracks with your brush.  Drying time will vary depending how thick you put it on, I like to let mine dry for at least two days.

In a few days I will post the paint up. Once the piece has dried and I get home from Work.
Thanks for reading.

Current Workbench: GZG Trikes, Medics, and more!

Got my (birthday present to myself) order from GZG Today!!

I got two packs of the seated NAC for my VTOLs...  I have them glued one foot to a penny so I can actually prime and paint them.  These are really cool, I can't wait to have them all seated in their transport!

Here is one of my Medics for Gruntz (they are a specialists that can removed wound markers and save squad mates)... I glue them to the penny, then use superglue around the edge of the base and then sprinkle on sand.  I found this way gives me the cleanest looking bases and avoids buildup on the base or their feet.

I ordered four of the GZG trikes.  I really like these. Right after I ordered the GZG NAC specials came out, but that's OK.  These will be a great fast attack troop to bug my opponent.  I'll use them to capture objectives, flank enemy forces and generally be a pain in the butt...  I might add a heavy weapon to one of the bikes, probably something anti-tank to help take on some Mechs.

The final squad I need to repaint yellow and grey... soon!

This is my favorite invention in the whole world...except I don't use the spray:

I unscrew it and use the other end to dab (stop saying dab!) small amounts so I don't get kicker everywhere.  The new version is supposed to be less toxic, and smells oddly nice.  The only problem with applying it the way I do is that when you're clumsy you knock the bottle over and it goes everywhere. Whups.

And more! I have some standing heavy gunners, two kneeling grenade launcher teams, more medics, and a fixed heavy gun.

Miniatures Exchange minis received! And IDF!

I received the two shipments today!

First from John Bear Ross:

A great HAMR suit!

I really like this model, and the katana hand is awesome!

And then from Steve over at Firebase Ares 15

The grav tank and CMG troopers are great.  I like the basing enough so that I'm gonna have to steal the technique!  And the gang taskforce from Rebel minis are the icing! They'll be a great commando force.

And then, on my end, here is my IDF squad painted:

WIP IDF Force

Some Vistula Legion painted up as Interplanetary Defense Force. Along with a Micropanzer Stoat and KM Polecat.

For use in Gruntz. They start as a neutral force on the table. When one side causes too much collateral damage to civilian targets they then become controlled by the opposing force.

(And you can see in the background I have a crashed shuttle from Micropanzer that I'll be painting up, very excited because it's so cool!

Threat Recon Photo...

A quick recon photo from the spy satellites:

I got another Falcon Halo Micro Ops... this one I put the seat in from the first one I had.  The provides seating for 6 troops in the passenger section.  I have another order out to GZG to get more seated troops.

Each of the Kestrels holds a four-man squad with a drone, the lead Falcon gunship holds the commander and has two door gunners.

As always, comments and suggestions are welcome!

Requested photos of the Gunners on the falcon...

Just two more photos to give a better look inside, and what the VTOLs look on their flying bases:

15mm Halo Micro Ops Falcon Converted and Kestrel

Finished up my Halo Micro Ops Falcon today, really happy with it!

It has two GZG NAC gunners and a seated GZG NAC inside.  I need to get another one.  I think I have a blackhawk 1/100 scale sitting around some where and I might take the seats from that and put it in my next falcon.

I also added missiles on each pylon from an Apache kit.

The dome on top is from a Tau accessory sprue.

What do you guys think?

Thanks!

I also re-painted my "Alpha Teams", replacing the yellow with gray, and I figured out that they actually have armor on the front of their legs:

And here is a side by side shot:
